Teck-Tips Topic : SkyFire... a Unique Web Browser, that Trans-Codes FLASH Videos on the Fly...
Skyfire is presently (Nov, 2010) the only way to view any of the millions of FLASH videos that are published on the WEB, when using one of the 200,000,000 Apple devices such as their iPhones, IPads, and iPods. The reason is Apple and Adobe are not in sync, to the point where Apple claims that Adobe’s Flash Player applet when installed on Apple portable devices causes “…too many crashes…” and therefore Apple will not permit Adobe Flash Player software installations on their devices. And have system blocked such attempts for loading Adobe Flash Player software. This is a welcome solution not only for the 200 million Apple device owners, but for the next 100 million such devices that are targeted to be sold in 2011, according to analyst reports.
To solve the Flash Video issue with Apple devices, the good folks at Skyfire Labs, Inc., have recently developed (11/3/2010) an Apple approved APP that is now available on Apple’s App Store. To obtain this App simply go to the App store, select the Categories tab at screen bottom-right, enter SKYFIRE into the Search Box at Top Right, and voilå, the App will appear, simply download-install this useful APP which is “presently FREE for early adopters,” as of this writing (11/14/2010)… There is a suggestion from the Company that this App will not be Free forever… It is designed for iPhones and iPods with good resolution on their screen sizes; The App will operate on IPad devices; however at this time the program is not optimized for IPads; In reading a number of news reports available, and statements made by the Author, it appears that an iPad version is in the works…
To operate this App, simply start the SkyFire Icon, and go to your favorite web-site that contains the Videos desired. For example, to see the wonderfully produced Videos that are available on the ISAGENIX’s site, use the Skyfire browser and browse this site, once you come across a FLASH Video that you’d like to play, simply click onto the Video Frame, and be patient while Skyfire performs an on the fly trans-coding of the video… once completed, the video will commence playing… The App has many other convenience features I viewing FLASH Videos, that are defined with the instructions provided with the software. Accompanying this writing are a number of Screen Images that have been captured directly from the Apple’s APP Store, so you an read the operating claims directly stated by the software author.
