Lynn University 2008 Family Fun day, April 6, 2008, 1pm, Boca Raton, Florida
BOCA RATON, Fla. Giggling children, screams of excitement and the splashing of water are just some of the sounds that will be heard when Lynn University and its Athletic Department host the First Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities will be plentiful for kids of all ages and their parents as the Fighting Knights look to continue their involvement in the local community. Admission is free for everyone. Come out to enjoy an afternoon that includes bounce houses, face painting and obstacle courses while getting the opportunity to interact with Lynn student-athletes playing soccer, tennis or basketball. In addition, Lynns volleyball team will be sponsoring a youth sand volleyball tournament for 14-and-Under and 18-and-Under age groups. The first 300 people in attendance will receive free brunch while refreshments will be provided all day long. And what better way to end the day than to relax to the sooth sounds in the Armarnick-Goldstein Theater by alumni & Lynn students from the Conservatory of Music. The Lynn University Family Fun Day was created in response to the NCAA Division II community engagement initiative. Dr. Rich Luker formulated the idea based on statistics showing that the United States is approximately a 78% service driven economy. The goal of this event, and the initiative, is to provide a place for the community to get together and have a good time. Interested volleyball teams should contact Lynze Roos at lroos@lynn.edu while more information on Lynn University's Family Fun Day can be found by calling (561) 237-7703.
