Owls Win a dramatic 41-37 victory over Texas-San Antonio in their teams’ Conference USA opener Saturday night at FAU Stadium.
Jaquez Johnson hit Nate Terry with a 15-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds left and the Florida Atlantic defense broke up two passes at the goal line in the final seconds, lifting the Owls to a dramatic 41-37 victory over Texas-San Antonio in both teams’ Conference USA opener Saturday night at FAU Stadium. Kicker Greg Johnson forced Kam Jones out of bounds at the FAU 13 following an 87-yard return with seven seconds to play on the ensuing kickoff, saving a touchdown. Johnson finished with three touchdown passes and ran for a score as FAU improved to 2-3 overall. UTSA dropped to 1-3. Belle Glade native Cre’von LeBlanc returned an interception 76 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and broke up a pass at the goal line on the Roadrunners’ final play of the game.
