BOCA RATON, FL - Rodney Webb continued his hot play - as did the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team in an 81-62 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday evening at FAU Arena. Playing with three other seniors in his final home game, Webb shot a career-best 10-of-11 from the field and scored 24 points. Webb's efforts came off a career-high 30-point night against East Tennessee on Thursday evening. For the week, Webb shot 19-of-23 (82.6%) from the floor, six-of-eight from three-point range and 10-of-12 at the line. He averaged 27.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games. Webb's four three-pointers set a new personal high. FAU connected on 12-of-17 from three-point range, good for 70.6%. The Owls shot a season-high 69.6% from the field, hitting 32-of-46. FAU totaled 25 assists, led by a career-high seven assists from freshman Paul Graham. Senior forward Fred Marshall concluded his home career with six points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Lamar Moore, in his first start at FAU, scored three points, while classmate Quinton Young contributed 11. Freshman Carlos Monroe had 13 points and six rebounds. Brent Crews added six assists. FAU's 25 assist marks the seventh time this season that they have accomplished that feat. In the last 10 seasons, only 2001-02, when the Owls had five 20-plus assist games, comes close to matching the 2005-06 squad. The Owls (13-12, 12-6 A-Sun) move into a tie for third place in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings.
