2014 • St. Patrick's Day event, Delray Beach Atlantic Avenue - 46th Annual event, March 15, 2014 2pm

This year's Delray Beach 46th St. Patrick’s Day Parade, rejoicing Irish heritage and honoring the service of the International Firefighters. The 2014 parade runs about 2 hours, starts at 2pm, and draws Marching Pipe & Drum Bands from around the world. In past years, marching firefighter bands from Dublin, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Canada and Australia have joined the festivities and traditionally play at the Irish Siamsa and Party. Join us for one of the largest St.Patrick’s Day celebrations in the nation and pay tribute to the brave Firefighters across the globe.

These were taken on Atlantic Avenue looking East towards the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge. The same ocean of people visible looking west, showing Tens of Thousands of Visitors to this years St. Patrick's Day Parade, this being the 46th Annual Celebration. An estimated 100,000+ attended this year's event, the largest crowd since we've been covering this event over the past 10 years.

Delray Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebrates weekend-long festivities with a two day Siamsa (Irish Variety Show) and Party, featuring Irish step dancing, traditional pipe & drum bands, Irish storytelling, tales of Celtic Mythology, food, beer, live music and ending with the Celtic tradition of the Circle of Lights. The Irish Siamsa is hosted by the Master Leprechaun Himself, the original Jack Ryan, the Bard of Belmar, Shanachie of the Irish Riviera and the Jersey Shore’s Storyteller extraordinaire. Professor Ryan is an encyclopedia of all things Irish and sure to educate and entertain. The Irish Siamsa takes place in Downtown Delray Beach at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts at the corner of Atlantic & Swinton Avenue. Festivities begin at 5:00 PM, Friday, March 14th and continue on through Saturday evening in conjunction with the Parade.

The 24 mega pixel Images and HDTV video clips, high resolution 1920x1080p 30fps videos, were captured using Canon's new EOS 5D Mark-III 24MegaPixel Camera + Canon 16-35mm "L" Ultra-WideZoom Lens, coupled with SONY ECM-CG50BP ShotGun Microphone, and ZAGUTO viewfinder. Our secondary Camera is a Canon D650 coupled to an image stabilized 18mm-135mm Zoom EFS Lens, (a 29mm-216mm equivalent lens). Images were stored in camera using SanDisk Extreme SDHC 16GB data cards. (Note the Canon D650 lens kit is less than 1/3 the price of the Canon 5D3 and delivers amazing images.
