FAU Basketball vs Florida International Univ, February 20, 2008 7pm, hosted at FAU Arena, Boca Raton, FL : BOCA RATON, FL - Nikola Gacesa scored 16 points, connecting on a pair of timely three-point baskets in the second half as Florida International defeated rivals Florida Atlantic 72-66 at the FAU Arena Thursday night. The loss snapped a seven-game home winning-streak for host Florida Atlantic (12-16) and evened the two teams up in the Sun Belt Conference standings. Before this game, Florida Atlantic (12-15; 6-8 SBC) returns to Boca Raton, facing Sun Belt Conference and local rivals Florida International (8-16; 5-9 SBC) in the FAU Arena Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The game is part of FAU's "Bury the Burrow in Red Part III - The Series," in which fans wearing red will have the opportunity to win a number of special prizes including a $1,000 Nike apparel spree. The Owls are 9-2 at home this season and have won six-straight at the "The Burrow."

FAU Basketball vs Kennesaw State University, February 18, 2006 7pm FAU Arena, Boca Raton, FL : BOCA RATON, FL - Rodney Webb continued his hot play - as did the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team in an 81-62 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday evening at FAU Arena. Playing with three other seniors in his final home game, Webb shot a career-best 10-of-11 from the field and scored 24 points. Webb's efforts came off a career-high 30-point night against East Tennessee on Thursday evening. For the week, Webb shot 19-of-23 (82.6%) from the floor, six-of-eight from three-point range and 10-of-12 at the line. He averaged 27.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games. Webb's four three-pointers set a new personal high. FAU connected on 12-of-17 from three-point range, good for 70.6%. The Owls shot a season-high 69.6% from the field, hitting 32-of-46. FAU totaled 25 assists, led by a career-high seven assists from freshman Paul Graham. Senior forward Fred Marshall concluded his home career with six points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Lamar Moore, in his first start at FAU, scored three points, while classmate Quinton Young contributed 11. Freshman Carlos Monroe had 13 points and six rebounds. Brent Crews added six assists. FAU's 25 assist marks the seventh time this season that they have accomplished that feat. In the last 10 seasons, only 2001-02, when the Owls had five 20-plus assist games, comes close to matching the 2005-06 squad. The Owls (13-12, 12-6 A-Sun) move into a tie for third place in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings.

FAU Basketball vs UNF - Florida Atlantic University's season home opening match, November 30, 2005 Boca Raton, FL 7pm : BOCA RATON, FL - Matt Doherty's first game in FAU Arena was a success as Florida Atlantic University edged the University of North Florida, 77-75, on Wednesday evening. The win was the first of the season for Owls as they improved to 1-2 on the year. FAU got off to slow start on the offensive end, shooting 34% in the opening frame, but caught fire in the latter part of the session as they held a 38-37 advantage at the break. The Owls' defense forced 10 Ospreys' turnovers in the session. DeAndre Rice scored six straight points to cut UNF's lead to four, 26-22, with 5:47 left in the half. Rice was 4-5 from three-point land and ended the first stanza with 15 points. The Ospreys pushed the lead back to six on their next possession, but Quinton Young and Ty McTyer knocked down back-to-back triples to knot it up at 28 at the 4:03 mark. In the second half the Owls' defense was able to fluster the Ospreys' offense, scoring 12 points on 10 turnovers, and garnered in 19 points on 20 UNF turnovers on the night. The Ospreys cut the lead to one, 62-61, when Rashad Williams converted a three-point play the old fashioned way with 7:58 left in the game. UNF then took its first lead of the half as Carl McNally connected down low to give them a 67-66 edge at the 3:24 mark. FAU responded with five straight points as Rice netted a three-point play of his own and Kevin Green contributed two points in the paint. Holding the 71-67 lead with 1:33 left in the game, Brent Crews took a charge for the Owls. Rodney Webb hit all four of his charity tosses to seal the win. "I thought we played really hard out there tonight. We still made some mistakes that we need to correct, but we were able to gut out a win down the stretch," head coach Matt Doherty said. DeAndre Rice led all scorers with 22 points on the night. Brent Crews dropped in 11 for the Owls and Paul Graham added 10. Rodney Webb ripped down 12 rebounds to go along with 10 points.

FAU Basketball vs East Tennessee State University February 16, 2006, 7pm FAU Arena : Webb Scores Career-High 30 against ETSU, Rodney Webb scored a career-high 30 points as the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team got its biggest win of the year 93-87 over East Tennessee State on Thursday evening at FAU Arena. The win keeps FAU (12-12, 11-6 A-Sun) tied for fourth in the Atlantic Sun standings with Gardner-Webb, which surprised Belmont 74-66 on Thursday. Belmont (12-5 A-Sun) had been tied for first with Lipscomb, which moved to 13-4 in the conference and took sole possession of first place with an 80-68 victory over Campbell.
